Valentine Mini Quilts | Scrap Project 1 & 2

At the beginning of the year, I always want to clean out my scrap bins. And this year has been no different. My bins are overflowing and I've been thinking of some scrappy quilt projects to help clean them out. I even went through my scraps to donate to a teacher to use in a sewing lesson, and my bins are still overflowing.

So enter this LOVE mini quilt. I've seen a few different versions of this one floating around, but really wanted to make one with a Quarter Square Triangle (QST) so I set out to figure out the math to make a 6 inch heart block made up of QST's.

I love being able to use my favorite bits of fabric! After stitching up this cute little heart I just needed to figure out the letters to make up my LOVE mini.

In true scrappy style, my letters had to be patchwork. And I must say they turned out pretty darn cute. For the quilting I wanted to keep it fairly simple so it wouldn't distract from the mini. So I settled on a diamond crosshatch, for just the right …

2019 Finish Along | Quarter 1 Projects

this year i feel more motivated than ever, to just finish projects. i think it has something to do with watching Tidying Up on Netflix. i want my sewing space mostly tidy and when i have unfinished projects they tend to clutter up my space. so this is the year of finishing projects!!!!

here is my list of proposed projects to finish during the first quarter:

Lizzy House Snail Quilt

Rainbow Boxed In Quilt

Bonnie and Camille Churn Dash Quilt

3 quilts in 3 months, i think that is a good goal to strive for. i'm tired of this just sitting in my WiP pile, it is time to finish them off!
