Fall in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan doesn't disappoint! The colors this year have been amazing. A few weekends ago we did a little fall color tour to the Lake of the Clouds in the Porcupine Mountains. While it was a rather blustery day, the scenery did not disappoint. This was my first time in the region of the UP and I can't wait for our Labor Day weekend trip here next summer! The pictures just can do justice to the landscape of the Porcupine Mountains. If you are ever in the western area of the UP, it really is a must see area! Earlier this summer I made two Bjorn Bear pillows for my girls. Well now my husband and I have our own pillows, made in our favorite colors. First is my husbands red with blue bear. And keeping with the quilting that I did on my girls pillows I did a straight line grid, just added a little extra echoing since I just love the look of it. Hoohoo! I finished my One Monthly Goal and my first project from the Q4 2019 FAL list! With the changing temperatures, I have noticed an increase in my productivity and I'm loving it. With school in full swing, I am taking full advantage of my free morning. I've had the Mini Swoon pattern by Thimble Blossoms for a number of years and a swoon has been on my must make list. So when I pulled out those mini patterns purchased awhile ago, this one went on the top of the list. Since I wanted to use my scrap bins again (they never seem to get smaller!) I could not decide on a color palette. So I went with my go to palette of rainbow. These little 8 inch blocks are fun, but man there are a lot of tiny pieces! And of course at one point I sewed my blocks together incorrectly. Thank goodness for a sharp seam ripper. With all of the seams, I decided to keep the quilting straight forward. I marked out a 2 inch angled grid and the quilting went quickly on my Janome HD9. I l

Last quarter was quite successful for quilty finishes! Of my four proposed projects I finished three of them, I'm pretty excited about that. Now that we are moving into Q4, I'm hoping to keep up the momentum that I built up in Q3. School is well underway and having both girls in school  (only half the day, youngest is in preschool) has been great for my productivity. So here is my list of projects for the last quarter of 2019 Enna's Sunshine quilt, I actually had time set up on my local long arm, but my hubby had to go out of town last minute, so I had to cancel my time. This month my One Monthly Goal is to complete my Mini Swoon Quilt. I have wanted to make a Swoon Quilt for sometime. Well I don't really need another large quilt, so the Mini Swoon is the perfect way to still enjoy making a Swoon for myself. I am linking up with Elm Street Quilts for One Monthly Goal .
