Summer Bucket List

So in an effort to keep myself accountable this summer I created a summer bucket list. Plus having some goals and different outings that we can do as a family helps keep us from doing the same thing every day! Life is an adventures! Read 30 picture book to Nora that are new to us. Read 15 books for myself. Take at least 5 more bike trips to the beach with Nora. Try more garment sewing. I would like to sew a couple more skirts and a dress for myself. Finish 3 more quilts for Christmas gifts. Go hiking as a family Visit the gardens. Take Nora to the Little Explorers Laboratory at the library. Attend one of the summer concerts in the park. Go on a date with my hubby. Here's to a great summer!

Schnitzel and boo mini quilt swap

So one day a few weeks ago I was scrolling through my Instagram feed and came upon Kristi from Schnitzel & Boo and her post about the mini quilt swap . The first time she set up the swap I didn't sign up because I felt I was really too new to quilting, but not this time around. Signed up and I'm so glad I did. As for the pattern, I had some trouble deciding on one. I finally picked the Starburst mini quilt pattern by Canoe Ridge Creations . I love this pattern. I have now made this one a few times and every time I make it, I fall in love with the pattern all over again.  This is one of my favorite minis I have made to date. I LOVE how it turned out. I stuck with my favorite straight line quilting but with some angles to enhance the pattern. And how I love the binding, defiantly my new favorite f

WiP Wednesday: Christmas gift edition

I have been busy piecing together quilts for Christmas. Working on Christmas gifts already since I want to try and give handmade gifts as much as possible this year. I plan on making each of my nieces and nephews a throw quilt, so that's 6 quilts right there. As of today I have one quilt finished, one pieced and ready for basting, and 4 ready to be cut out. Pink & Purple Jelly Roll Jam Quilt My first Christmas gift finished! This quilt is for my oldest niece and finishes at 60 inches square. Lazy Girl Quilt (Pattern: Lazy Daisy by In Color Order) This is my current wip. I love how the top came out. Plus the piecing is a breeze, just random blocks together. My kinda of quilt! Now all I need to do is bast this one and start quilting! Happy Sewing! Linking up with Lee from Freshly Pieced for WiP Wednesday.
