WiP Wednesday : Swap Sewing & Quilting

Since I finished up sewing for baby #2, this week has been about sewing and quilting for two swaps that are due to be sent out pretty quickly after this baby comes. I knew this when I signed up and planned accordingly.  My Rainbow Mini Swap Quilt. I used my favorite Aurifil threads in white and then a range of rainbow colors to accent this colorful quilt. I love how it turned out. I just finished the binding on this one this morning and now I'm just waiting for some decent light for pictures. (If it ever stops snowing!) For the Sweet & Salty Easter Swap we are making the medium size open wide pouch from Noodlehead. After looking for a few weeks for the perfect fabric, I finally found it on Spoonflower and ordered it right away. Well it arrived last weekend and quickly washed it and started cutting out. Now to just finish the little details and the goodies and I'll be all set.  With only 2 weeks left to go, my goal is to have all of the swaps done by the

Sewing for Baby #2 : Completed Projects

So last week I decided to take a break from swap sewing and concentrate on sewing up a few projects related to baby #2. Nothing like waiting until a month before your due date to start your sewing projects! After I made my MIL a Poolside Tote for Christmas, I just knew I needed one as my hospital bag. I just didn't have enough canvas in my stash to make one. Then I couldn't decide on what canvas I should use (go figure). So over Superbowl weekend, my favorite quilt shop Stitched Studio was having a big sale and they had some Koi Canvas on sale!!! Then I found some of Kate Spain's Daydream collection on sale for the lining and I had my fabric! I have a few of the essentials packed, just waiting until I'm a little closer before I finish packing. When I had Nora, I was very new to the world of quilting. Heck I had just recently started sewing again and didn't really have a clue what I was doing. Well with this baby, I have a little more sewing and quilting expe

WiP Wednesday : Sewing for Baby #2

Seeing as my due date is officially 4 weeks away, I thought this would be the week to finally get around to some of my last minute baby sewing. Ever since I made a Poolside Tote for my MIL for Christmas I have wanted to make myself one. Well I'm using the excuse that I need a cute hospital bag as a reason to make one. I have all of the fabric and interfacing cut out, now it's time to fuse and start sewing! And while I'm at it, what's another quick baby quilt. I love a nice plus quilt and this one is just so fun. We are having a girl, but I am partial to green and blue, so guess what both of my girls baby quilts were created with green and blue. (Don't get me wrong I enjoy pink from time to time, but does everything for a baby girl have to be pink, I think not!) Hoping to have this finished up by the weekend so I can get back to my swap sewing that I want to complete before this little girl makes her debut! Happy Sewing! --------------------- Linki

Project 365: January 2015

2014 was the first year that I was actually able to complete a photo a day challenge. So I'm trying again this year. It is nice to look back and see everyday moments that we tend to over look.

Sunday Lately : Wk. 5

Completing Sewing and quilting projects in an effort to get ahead in a few of the swaps I'm participating in. I don't want to feel rushed when it comes to my swap deadlines, especially when baby #2 comes. Visiting The library as a family is always fun. Nora loves the turtles and playing with the puzzles. But on occasion it is nice to just go to the library by myself and browse through books at my own pace and not at a toddler's pace. Repeating That everything will work out. My anxiety is starting to get the best of me lately and it is making me crazy. I know deep in my heart things will work out, I'll figure out how to be a momma of 2 and I will figure out this new life. Thank goodness for a great hubby!. Applauding My husband! He is my rock and does such an amazing job providing for our family. Then coming home and helping out with Nora and most nights he does the cooking. He is simply amazing and love he more with each passing day. Schedul
