No Scrap Left Behind : A Finished Mini Quilt

hi, my name is Jess and i LOVE Lizzy House and her fabrics! so every little scrap is precious and i must use as much as possible. so hence this No Scrap Left Behind Mini.

i have been cutting up my scraps for a scrappy Lizzy House Quilt and some cushions. and these were left. so i decided they needed to become a little rainbow mini quilt. plus i love my binding, i used the teeny tiny scraps and it just might be my favorite part.

as for the quilting, i love straight line quilting. so lately i have been playing around with various straight line quilting designs.

i just love this little mini and it is just the perfect addition to my mini quilt gallery in my sewing room.

2017 New Quilt Blogger Blog Hop

for the last several weeks i have been participating in the 2017 New Quilt Bloggers Blog Hop, hosted by Yvonne ( Quilting Jet Girl ), Beth ( Cooking Up Quilts ), and Leanne ( She Can Quilt ). while i have been blogging for a little while, this blog hop has been great to hone my blogging skills and meet other quilt bloggers. i have been crafty most of my life, i even learned to sew when i was younger. but it didn't really stick. after college i was living in Iowa and on a whim i bought a cheap sewing machine and began a back and forth with sewing. fast forward a few years, i got married and pulled that sewing machine out again and this time actually made a quilt top (that sat for at least 3 years before i quilted it). sewing again was pushed to the side as i was finishing my master's program and job hunting.  well after landing a job, moving, looking for a house. we found out we were expecting. though it was not to be and i miscarried in march 2011. during the next ye

2019 Quilters Meet & Greet

Benita of Victoriana Quilt Designs approached me if I wanted to participate in a Quilter's Meet and Greet. And since both kiddos are in school this year, I actually have a little more time to actually blog, so I figured this was a great time to join the fun. So here is a little more about me, my quilting journey, and life in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan! Hi! I'm Jess Pugh and I grew up in Ludington, Michigan, famous for the Lake Michigan Carferry the S.S. Badger . Went to Michigan State University for my undergrad in botany and later my Master's at University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee for my MLIS. I was set up with my husband on a blind date, and were married 6 months later. In January 2020 we will be celebrating 12 years of marriage! This by far was one of the craziest things I've done! Triangle Rainbow Spectrum Mini Quilt | A Finished Quilt

Another quilt finish, oh my! Right before my family and I moved to the UP, a few of my quilty friends started a little swap group. We made a mini with our theme for that swap. Then we would get together for dinner and swap mini's. So I have continued to swap with them and traveling down to visit and swap, minus a few weather hiccups. Well this round we went virtual due to COVID-19, but still had an enjoyable time. And bonus for me I didn't have to travel. So this round was rainbow themed. Between putting our house of the market and our upcoming move, I was at a lose as to what I wanted to make. Lately I've been playing around with different angles and I love triangles, so why not a rainbow triangle mini. I used 2 inch equilateral triangles cut from my stash. I played around with the layout quite a bit it get it just right. Once it was stitched together, I added the the low volume white as a border. To finish it off I used black for my binding, I love that it looks like a fr
