Quilt the Book : Bitsy Baby

Finally I have finished my second quilt in my Quilt the Book Challenge . I love this little quilt, this will be a perfect gift for an upcoming baby shower for a little girl. I had a few mini charm packs from Me & My Sister Designs for Moda Fabrics and just knew this quilt would be perfect for them. And with a few 2.5 inch squares from my stash, it was time to start making this quilt. I used this baby quilt to continue to practice my free motion quilting. I did a geometric all over design, which is becoming one of my favorite motifs as of late. I am finally starting to feel more comfortable with free motion quilting, almost to the point where I like to include it in most of my latest quilts. I love a quick quilting project and a little baby quilt is just what was needed before I try and begin quilting a few of my larger quilts in my queue. Minion Quilt for My Little Minion : A Finished Quilt

A while back I picked up a One in a Minion pack of charm squares by Quilting Treasures and as soon as I opened the package Nora started asking for a quilt or really anything made with this minion fabric. So after this pack sat on my cutting table I finally decided on a pattern. I used the Wiggling block from Modern One Block Quilts and I love the effect of a simple block that is rotated to make the quilt look way more complicated than it really is. Since minions wear their little denim overalls, I had to use Essex Yarn-dyed Linen in Denim by Robert Kaufman. And I love the overall look and it becomes so soft in the wash. I used Shannon Fabrics Cuddle in Navy as the backing. I'm now in love with using cuddle fabric as backing and need to make a quilt for myself. For the quilting I did a little stitch in the ditch to help stabilize the quilt sandwich. Then I did some organic lines with a little curve to them. 2016 Q2 Proposed Finishes

I finished quite a few projects last quarter, but none on my Finish A Long List. So this time around I am determined to actually finish what I put on this list. First up, I would like to start and finish a new quilt for Enna. I am going to be using the Wiggling block from Modern One Block Quilts by Natalie Bonner. I have all of the fabric, including the backing and binding so now it is just time to start sewing. **Update** Finished June 2016 Next up, I am going to be finishing my Alison Glass Charm Pack Cherry Quilt. I have the backing and binding ready, now just to gather up enough batting and I will be ready to tackle this one. **Update** Finished April 2016 And finally, I need a new bag. So I will be making an Ella Bucket Bag by SOTAK Handmade .  **Update** Finished May 2016 This seems like it should be a manageable list, so hopefully I am a bit more successful this quarter with my finishes! Happy Sewing!
